La Liga

As we move into the third round of the new La Liga season, we are already starting to see trends and patterns this yearat both ends of the table. With some huge games incoming in La Liga, we have tipped the biggest matches in the upcoming round.

Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid Predictions

Celta Vigo have struggled to get going this season, with the side currently sitting in 16th in the table with a single point coming from their opening two outings. A 2-0 home defeat to Osasuna was a surprising way for their season opener to end, while they were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Sociedad the following week. Now, with the top team in La Liga visiting, Celta will need to be near-perfect to keep them out.

Real Madrid have been brilliant in their opening two games, winning twice, scoring five goals and keeping two clean sheets. Jude Bellingham has been the star of the show for the current table toppers after scoring three goals in his opening two games, with the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder in inspired form.

While Celta will look to make this one tough for Real, we can only see an away win in this one, while Jude Bellingham is our tip to find the back of the net.

Villarreal vs Barcelona Predictions

Villarreal always seem to make things really tough for the best sides in La Liga, with their ability to stay compact at the back and break with the ball impressive. They come into this one on the back of a solid performance against Mallorca in a 1-0 win, although they could only turn one of their 15 shots into a goal. Against Barcelona, the home side have to be clinical.

Barcelona began the season with a disappointing 0-0 draw with Getafe that put them on the back-foot immediately. An improved performance against Cadiz ended in a 2-0 win, with Barca securing four points from a possible six. However, while they did win 2-0, Barca only found their two goals late in the game as Pedri scored in the 82nd minute while Ferran Torres scored in the 94th minute.

The longer this game stays goalless, the more worried the away side will get. If Villarreal can keep the game tight, then they have every chance of taking points from the reigning champions.
