Barcelona were able to claim victory in one of their final major tests this season as they beat Atletico Madrid last time out. A battling 1-0 win saw Barca edge to the win via a Ferran Torres goal just before half-time. This triumph means Barca maintained their 11-point lead at the top. With just eight games to go, another win in this one would see Barca tighten their grip on top-spot. Having lost just two of their 30 games this season, it seems very likely Barca will win the league at a jog.

Real Betis are still in the hunt for a top-four spot this season, but they seem to be running out of steam at the crucial time. Three defeats in their last four has seen Real Sociedad move six points ahead of them in fourth. With 24 points left to pick up, Betis still have time to move above Sociedad, but they need to start winning games more often. However, they will struggle massively against a Barca side that may not have been at their goal-scoring best last week, but they were still good enough to beat an Atletico Madrid side in red-hot form.

Cadiz vs Valencia Predictions

What a game we have in store this weekend as struggling Cadiz host relegation threatened Valencia. For the home side, the two point buffer they have between themselves and Valencia is tenuous at best. Defeat in this one could see Cadiz slip into the bottom-three, although results would really need to go against them. However, if they do lose, Valencia would move above them, which would pile the pressure on Cadiz. A win would see them move five points clear of Valencia with just seven games left to go.

Valencia have been awful this season and are fully deserving of their place in the bottom-three. A 2-0 win over bottom-side Elche means Valencia are now level on points with Almeria in 17th, with safety just ahead of them. Valencia will be desperate to ensure that they somehow find a way to get something from this game as they need to build on the momentum that they created from winning their last game. Defeat to a relegation-rival could be a nail in the coffin in their battle to avoid relegation. Valencia are slight favourites going into this one, but don't completely discount the home side.
