La Liga Predictions

With La Liga now into the final stretch of the season, teams at both the top and bottom are desperately trying to pick up as many points as they possibly can. Suddenly, only wins will do for some teams, with the battle for the top-spots or to avoid relegation heating up.

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid Predictions

What a match we have instore this week as the league leaders take on an in-form Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou. Barcelona look to be on course to secure the title once again this season, although they have stumbled in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last three across all competitions.

A 0-0 draw against Getafe in the league last week was hardly ideal, and it failed to rid their 4-0 hammering at the hands of Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey a few weeks ago. Robert Lewandowski looks like he is running out of steam this season, with the striker only scoring twice in his last seven games.

For Atletico Madrid, this is a huge chance to underline their prominence in the league and show that La Liga is not just contested by Barcelona and Real Madrid. Having avoided defeat in their last 13 matches and winning six in a row, they are only two points behind Real Madrid, and they look like they are in the ascendancy right now.

Despite this, they have struggled at the Camp Nou, and they are without a win there since early 2006.

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo Predictions

Real Madrid look all but out of contention for the La Liga title after a run of matches in which they have dropped too many points, allowing Barca to move 11 points ahead at the top. A 2-0 win over Cadiz last time out was welcome return to winning ways in the league following a 3-2 loss to Villarreal the week before.

Despite there being 27 points left to pick up for Real, it is likely that manager Carlo Ancelotti will prioritise their Champions League clash with Chelsea in midweek, meaning some of the more senior players may get a rest this weekend, especially if they progress to the semi-finals.

Celta Vigo have looked good of late and are now nine points clear of Valencia in 18th and the final spot in the relegation zone. With Villarreal and the final European spot now 11 points ahead of them, this season will likely become a bit of a non-event for Celta, especially if they pick up a few more wins in their next cluster of games.
