The Indian Premier League is back, with the latest and greatest in domestic cricket returning for what promises to be a blockbuster season.

While there are some rule changes that have been added by the IPL, the game is still the same one that we know and love. To kick things off, reigning champions the Gujarat Titans take on the Chennai Super Kings in game one, with some of the greatest players in Twenty20 cricket set to take to the pitch across the tournament.

Get our latest betting tips and insight for the first batch of IPL matches below.

Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings Predictions

CSK

The reigning champions the Gujarat Titans are given the honour of opening the new season as they take on the Chennai Super Kings, who have secured the IPL title four times in their history.

GT were able to secure two wins in two attempts against CSK last term, but they were incredibly tight matches, with CSK pushing their opponents to the wire.

It will be interesting to see how the left-hand batsmen at CSK's disposal will be able to counter Rashid Khan and Hardik Pandya. Among the lefties is England Test captain Ben Stokes, who will look to light up the IPL alongside the likes of MS Dhoni too.

For the champions, it is a case of keeping most of their inner-circle of players. Shubman Gill is currently averaging 40.40 with the bat, while he smashed 126 not out in his last innings. However, if Gill is to go cheaply and Pandya does not fire, then the scoring will be left up to misfiring talent like Matthew Wade, who is very hit and miss.

England's Moeen Ali keeps getting better, and if he can snare wickets early-on, then CSK will be well in this clash.

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals Predictions

SRH
RR
TBDTBD

Sunrisers Hyderabad really struggled in IPL 2022, as they finished in eighth with six wins and 12 points. With an unenviable record of 5.88 deliveries per boundary last year, SRH struggled to keep things moving, with maximums and four's tough to come by.

Harry Brook is clearly seen as one of the solutions to this problem, with the England star in unbelievable form this year. Adil Rashid is also on the books for SRH now as they look to add a world class spinner to their ranks.

Rajasthan Royals will feel they have a point to prove after being soundly beaten by the Titans in last year's IPL. Jos Buttler is still a RR player, with the England batsman the premier talent in the competition this year. After easily taking the Orange Cap (most runs scored) in 2022 with 863 runs and four centuries, he is the big threat in this one.

New Zealand bowler Trent Boult is a player many will have their eye on this season, while Yuzvendra Chahal took home the Purple Cap (most wickets taken) in 2022.

For SRH, this match has come too soon, with Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klassen and Aiden Markram missing. RR will fancy their chances in this match as they look to start with a big win.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians Predictions

RCB
MI
TBDTBD

2023 could be the year that we finally see Arjun Tendulkar in the IPL. The son of the Little Master has been a part of the Mumbai Indian's team since 2021, but is yet to see any action. Could this be his year?

MI finished at the foot of the table last year, and their woes may worsen after losing Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson, while England star Jofra Archer is still working his way back from injury.

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished fourth last year and managed to keep the core of their team together. The likes of Virat Kohli, Harshal Patel and Faf du Plessis will lead the side with their experience, while they can also call up David Willey, Glenn Maxwell and Josh Hazlewood.

While MI only won twice last season, two victories came against RCB. Kohli will want to start off with runs in 2023, and Maxwell also provides a real base for the side too.
