Pinnacle pins Scottie Scheffler as the golfer to back in their PGA Championship Winner Betting Market

With the event set to start on May 16 and end on May 19 at Valhalla Golf Club, is Scheffler the man to back to triumph in 2024?

Scottie Scheffler has been in inspired form of late, and he will arrive for the PGA Championship on the back of romping to victory at the Masters in mid-April. 

He shot -11 which saw him ease to victory past Ludvig Aberg (-7), who was his nearest rival. 

Heading towards the PGA Championship, Scheffler is the favourite at 4.83. He is someway clear at the head of the betting, with Rory McIlroy his nearest rival at 13.51. Clearly, Pinnacle make the American the big favourite to win yet another event, and they are not overly convinced with his competition. 

In 2023, it was Brooks Koepka that triumphed at the PGA Championship. He shot -9 to ease past both Scheffler and Viktor Hovland (both -7). This year, Scheffler will be looking to go one better than he did last year after missing out on finishing first in 2023's iteration of the event. 

While the betting does not currently see many golfers getting close to Scheffler, things can change incredibly quickly, especially at such a big event. The likes of McIlroy and Rahm will be content not playing as the favourite, allowing them to keep a lower profile as they look to usurp Scheffler.

However, with Scheffler already winning the Masters in April, he will be very confident that he can win the PGA Championship and triumph in the second Major of 2024.
