Euro 2024 is almost upon us, with the competition likely to bring a summer of the best football action.

Ahead of the tournament, hosts Germany are fancied to fail to make the semi-finals of their own tournament despite being fancied to get out of the group, according to bookmaker Pinnacle

Despite hosting the competition this summer, Germany are not currently fancied to make it to the final of their own tournament.

The Germans are big favourites to make it out of Group A at 1.04, with a group stage demise priced at 16.00. They are also 1.39 to make it to the quarter-finals, while they are 3.14 to fail to make it that this point.

However, Pinnacle have made Germany securing a place in the semi-finals as less likely than the side falling before the final four. Germany are 1.74 to be knocked out before the semi-finals, while they are 2.15 to make the final four.

This comes after Germany have struggled to really establish themselves at major tournaments in recent attempts. A group-stage exit at the 2022 World Cup was an embarrassing end to their campaign. Meanwhile, they have looked fairly good of late, although they have hardly been unbeatable.

A 3-2 loss to Turkey was followed by a shock 2-0 loss to Austria back in November. While they have since beaten France, the Netherlands and Greece, they were held in a goalless draw by Ukraine earlier in the month.

If Germany are to win the 2024 Euros, they need to hit the ground running against Scotland in the opening match, while they will likely need some luck too. With sides like England and France fancied ahead of the Germans, the home side could benefit from not being the outright favourites. However, they will also need to ensure that they are playing at 100% from minute one.

Can Germany secure the trophy at their own tournament, or will they fall to another early exit?
